cautiously optimistic or optimistically cautious...
Sunset at Poipu Beach, Kauai.
I received a call from our dossier coordinator today saying that all the documents in our dossier were in order and that they would be sending them to the agency affiliate (Frank) in Russia. It was very exciting news! And then she told me that we forgot to sign the visa applications. Ha ha! It totally slipped my mind to sign those because they didn't need to be notarized or apostilled. Thankfully there's no immediate rush to get those done and back.
I also spoke with the agency director a few days ago and he said that our estimated wait time for a referral is approximately 3 months. It's probably optimistic, but at any rate very encouraging! We could be receiving a referral sometime in August, and possibly traveling in September. Kevin's parents have offiered to watch the kids while we travel, as long as they are not away on the Hawaiian cruise they booked for October. Well, if we don't travel sooner than October, then Murphy's law says that we WILL be traveling at the same time Kevin's parents are away on their cruise. =)) I hope it's that soon!
I thought I'd share some photos of our trip to Kauai in February 2005. It was such a wonderful trip, and the kids were only 3 1/2 at the time.

beautiful photos. Here's hoping for a quick referral!
Cute photos. I want to go to Kauai! I feel I was meant to live in a tropical place. I don't know how I ended up in this urban sprawl.
Anyway, 3 months to a referral? That is not too long off. I hope it comes through for you. I just want to bring our daughter home before Christmas.
Me too!
That is awesome news! I bet the time until your referral flies by (I hope so :))
