My Garden
Here are some pictures of what my garden is doing right now. It's going crazy! I usually post about my garden in my garden blog but thought I would throw some pictures up here, since it's looking so good right now.
A bean teepee, planted with my grandfather's Alabama pole beans. These are a tender, delicate flavored bean with a purple and green mottled skin.
Squash and sunflowers. They seem to like each other.
A shot from the top of the water tank. More Alabama beans in the foreground.
Baby tomatos. I'm pinching the little suckers that grow off the main stems and I am getting so many tomato fruits! I'm sure the warmer summer has helped too.
Another shot from the tank of the upper boxes. The pumpkins I planted are taking over. (I didn't have the heart to thin like I should have.)
C next to his garden box. His cherry tomato bush and pumpkins are making the paths around his box impassable. He also planted 12' to 14' sunflowers. They're still growing.
Other tidbits...
Kevin bought a new camera Saturday night. Good thing! I'll try to take some more pictures of the garden where they won't be washed out by the flash.
The closet system was installed Tuesday and the last of the trim was completed as well. The carpenters took all their stuff with them. The painters came Thursday and Friday and finished painting the bathroom and the trim. Saturday morning, I pulled the plastic off the carpet in the master bedroom and the space looks beautiful! I've decided not to have the carpet replaced so we only need to have new carpet installed in the closet. Almost done!
We cleaned out our garage on the 4th of July and made a huge pile! We were heaving stuff out the barn doors at the top of the garage... it felt great! After two trips to the Goodwill and one to the dump, we can get both cars into the garage again. We still have a lot of stuff in the garage attic, but a lot of it is baby stuff that will need to be sorted through.
Our agency received their reaccreditation on the 4th of July! Referrals will be coming more quickly now, with more information. What to do now?

Your garden looks fantastic!!! Every year I know I should plant more than I do. Sigh. I'm lucky to prune my dozen or so rose bushes, and have my half dozen planter boxes out on our patio ;o)
Uh, again your garden is amazing. I didn't know you have a garden blog until tonight. I'll have to go check it out. That will give me inspiration ;o)
Regarding adoption......listen to your heart and that still small voice. We too returned home from Russia empty handed. Different circumstances, but still same end result. We've grieved for our little girl for quite some time now, and this year is much better than last. It was so hard for me last year to even think of moving forward with a new adoption. At this point though, I'm glad we moved forward. By the time our new agency approval and new homestudy were complete, I felt ready to receive new referrals. The timing has worked out well.

Your garden is amazing. I need to take some lessons! I planted our first (since I was a kid, anyway) this year and thought it's done well, it's not yielding nearly as much as I thought it would. I think I need a sunnier location.
