Tuesday Tuesday

It felt so good to go to bed last night and flip through a magazine for about five minutes before falling asleep. War and Peace was a marathon.

Our agency director is back from a Hague convention meeting today. I can't wait to call him this morning for my regular pester. (I'm not really a pest; I can imagine others that are much worse. Well, maybe just a little bit. You have to call sometimes to keep the machine greased.) Our new paperwork should be in Ekaterinburg right now, going through the translation process. And hopefully that doesn't take long since our HS is technically unchanged, and all the other documents are boilerplate that two other families have also submitted. The last time I talked to our dossier coordinator, there was a shade of uncertainty about whether we would actually travel right after Thanksgiving. Our documents have to be resubmitted to the MOE and then we need to receive our invitation. I hope that we are penciled in for the end of November and that we don't have to continue waiting!

And on that note I can't believe Thanksgiving is NEXT week! My sister-in-law has graciously offered to host the family this year. She lives in Santa Cruz, which is very close. I'm slated to make sweet potatoes (or yams). Anyone have any good recipes to share?

Oh look, it's after 8. The agency is open. More later.

I cherish moments that I can flip through magazines. Sad, I know.
But I am understanding how you feel.

I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week either. Wow it got here quickly! I am glad you have some fun plans. Sorry, I don't have any recipes.

I hope you are able to travel at the end of the month and you don't have to wait much longer!
